Welcome to the Gut Healthy newsletter!

Hello!

I am thrilled to welcome you to Gut Healthy's very first official newsletter! Some of you may already be familiar with my work, while others may be new or just discovering me.

To my regular clients, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude. Thank you for choosing me as part of your healthcare team. It’s truly a privilege to work with you towards a happy and healthy life.

For those who are new or just getting to know me, I am a registered holistic nutritionist and health coach, specializing in:

  • Chronic diseases, particularly obesity and diabetes
  • Complex digestive issues, including Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), and food intolerances
  • Transitioning to more whole-food, plant-based eating
  • General nutritional support

My approach is a personalized, functional health one, tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs. Recognizing that everyone is different, I go beyond diet alone, incorporating lifestyle recommendations on exercise, stress management, sleep, and more to create a holistic path toward your health goals.

Sending this first newsletter has been a long-time goal, and it feels amazing to finally share it with you. In the coming months, I'll be bringing you wellness tips, recipes, nutrition and health advice, and more to support your health and overall well-being. I’m excited to have you as part of this community!

If you’re as enthusiastic as I am, please read on and feel free to share this newsletter with friends and family who may benefit from it. If you’d prefer not to receive future newsletters, you can easily unsubscribe using the link in the bottom left corner.

I welcome all feedback, comments, and questions on the content provided, and I’d love to hear any suggestions for topics you’d like covered in future newsletters.

Thank you for your support! Be well.

As the crisp fall air settles in, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the season with nourishing recipes that not only taste delicious but also support your gut health. This month, I'm spotlighting my cozy Pumpkin Oatmeal Muffins—a wholesome treat that’s full of flavour and packed with nutritional benefits.

Pumpkin is a fantastic source of fibre, which promotes healthy digestion and helps maintain a balanced gut microbiome. It’s also rich in antioxidants like beta-carotene, which supports your immune system—perfect as we head into colder months. Paired with oats, another gut-friendly ingredient rich in prebiotic fibre, these muffins are a great way to start your day or enjoy as a snack.

Book Recommendation: Built to Move by Kelly & Juliet Starrett

Physical movement is a key part of overall health and that's why I'm excited to recommend Built to Move, a guide to incorporating essential movement habits into your daily routine. This easy to read and well laid out book offers practical tips to help you move freely and feel great, no matter your fitness level.

This summer, I completed the Plant-Based Nutrition course through the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. This experience deepened my understanding of the powerful role whole, plant-based foods play in supporting overall health, and I'm excited to bring this knowledge to my work as we continue exploring the link between nutrition and wellness.

See you next month!

Leafy greens

March 2026 Getting the Most Out of Your Greens March always makes me think of green, St. Patrick’s Day, the first hints of spring, and of course all those beautiful, fresh, spring green vegetables that do so much good for our bodies. Leafy greens and green vegetables are true nutritional powerhouses. They’re rich in fibre that feeds the beneficial microbes in our gut, helping support digestion, immunity, and even mood. They’re also packed with vitamins, minerals, and protective plant...

Chocolate

February 2026 The benefits of chocolate and the difference between cacao and cocoa Chocolate has a reputation for being indulgent, even “off-limits,” when we’re talking about health. But here’s the good news: high-quality chocolate can absolutely have a place in a balanced, gut-friendly life. When we focus on quality, sourcing, and how chocolate is made, rather than restriction, chocolate becomes something to enjoy with intention, not guilt. At its best, chocolate is far more than a treat....

Sauerkraut

January 2026 A simple daily habit for digestion & overall health January has a way of making us feel like we need to change everything all at once. New routines. New rules. Big promises to ourselves. But instead of aiming for a full reset this year, what if we focused on one small, nourishing change, something simple, supportive, and actually sustainable? One of my favourite places to start is with fermented foods. Fermented foods have been part of traditional diets across cultures for...
