A couple of weeks ago, my favourite local farm had its soft opening for the season, and I couldn’t resist stopping by to stock up on fresh salad greens, bok choy, kale, cucumbers, radishes, and cherry tomatoes. There’s nothing quite like farm-fresh produce to welcome spring! With all these crisp, vibrant veggies on hand, I knew I had to whip up a dressing that would do them justice—enter my Nutty Ginger Dressing.

This creamy, flavour-packed dressing combines nut butter, fresh ginger, and a touch of citrus for the perfect balance of richness and zing. Not only does it elevate any salad, but it also delivers a boost of healthy fats, fibre, and gut-friendly ingredients. Ginger is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and digestive benefits, while the healthy fats in nuts help keep blood sugar stable and support nutrient absorption.

Give it a try on your next salad—or drizzle it over grain bowls or roasted veggies for an extra punch of flavour and nutrition!

Book Recommendation: Ultra-Processed People by Chris van Tulleken

Have you ever stopped to wonder just how much of your diet is made up of ultra-processed foods? And what exactly is a UPF? Ultra-Processed People is a must-read—I found it truly fascinating and thought-provoking. This book reveals the surprising ways the modern food industry shapes our eating habits, health, and even behaviour.

It’s time to rethink what’s really on our plates!

But instead of aiming for a full reset this year, what if we focused on one small, nourishing change, something simple, supportive, and actually sustainable? One of my favourite places to start is with fermented foods. Fermented foods have been part of traditional diets across cultures for...

December 2025 December Isn’t Always Easy December is often painted as a season of joy, twinkling lights, full tables of food, cheerful music, and togetherness. But for many of us, it can be one of the heaviest months of the year. This time of year can stir up grief, loss, and longing. We may miss people who are no longer with us, feel the regret of relationships that have changed, or carry the weight of a difficult year coming to a close. Darker and shorter days, colder weather, and disrupted...

November 2025 Let’s Talk Poop: Decoding Your Bowel Habits A few weeks ago, I ate out at a restaurant and got “glutenized.” After the initial bout of bloating, cramps, and diarrhea subsided, my poop wasn’t normal for over a week. My transit time was off, my bathroom timing was off, and the appearance wasn’t right. What did this tell me? That my GI tract was definitely irritated and needed time to heal. Poop may not be the most glamorous topic, but it’s one of the most important windows into...
